Fulbright’s EDIM Group Takes Leadership Role in EDRM Project

Press release, November 2, 2007: Fulbright Electronic Discovery and Information Management (EDIM) Co-Chair Laurie Weiss was named leader of the Evergreen Editorial Working Group of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) Project. Launched in May 2005, the EDRM Project was created to address the lack of standards and guidelines in the electronic discovery market.

This area was identified in the 2003 and 2004 Socha-Gelbmann Electronic Discovery surveys as a major concern for both vendors and consumers. Fulbright’s Fourth Annual Litigation Trends Survey has also indicated growing numbers of companies initiating or revising existing litigation hold policies and records management procedures due to changing needs and the various risks associated with storing and managing growing volumes of data.

The Fulbright EDIM group was one of the first such practice groups created by a major law firm to address the needs of this area.Fulbright attorneys and technology specialists also participate in other leading organizations and conferences addressing e-issues, such as the prestigious Sedona Conference, NARA and ARMA.
